Tusenskönor

Vita Sackville-West skrev så här om 'Darling Daisies' i en trädgårdsspalt:

Tennyson, who was usually extremely accurate about such matters, went very wrong when he claimed for Maud that:

'...her feet have touched the meadows
And left the daisies rosy'

for this is simply not true. Enchanted by this idea, I wasted many youthful summer hours stamping on daisies, in fact I still do, but never a daisy has so far blushed beneath my tread.
